"Japanese transferees are in trouble. To relieve their concerns and enable them to work to their full potential abroad, we must establish relocation services in Japan." These words of company founder Masanori Sasada inspired me to join the Relo Group in 1989 as one of the first new-graduate hires.
In those days, even the word "relocation" itself was unknown in Japan, and the Relo Group was just a start-up company with 70 employees.
Today, a market for this business has been established, and the Relo Group has successfully completed an IPO,. Along the way, we faced many difficulties as we endeavored to spread our services.
We continue to carry on our founding spirit, and now are in the Second "Start-Up" Period of the Relo Group.
The globalization of the Japanese economy, combined with the declining birth rate and aging society, has caused the market in Japan to shrink in recent years. These conditions have created an era in which Japanese companies must further accelerate the expansion of their businesses beyond Japanese shores.
Reflecting our original mission, "To help corporations and their employees be free from care and anxiety, and enable them to perform to their full potential though our products and services," we will continue to enlarge and strengthen our overseas businesses, including outbound relocation services and destination services, as well as our original business for relocation house rental management.
At the same time, we will also work on our domestic businesses, motivated by our mission of "providing support to client companies for their non-core operations that enables them to focus on their core operations." One of these businesses is our corporate housing management service, which seeks to help companies manage the numerous company residences they now have to handle and oversee. There is also our employee fringe benefit outsourcing service, which we started based on our desire "to fill the gap between the benefits available to the employees of major companies and those for the employees of small and midsize companies."
In addition, we are determined to proactively expand the residential property management service that we launched in 2010. Our intention is not only to accelerate the growth of our corporate housing management service, but also "provide indirect support for the anticipated transfer of people in Japan resulting from the trend towards revitalizing local communities."
In this Second "Start-Up" Period, we will once again clarify our mission. The entire Relo Group will work together to make our vision of "becoming a world-class relocation company"a reality. We appreciate your continued support.

The Second "Start-Up" Period: The medium- and long-term business framework
The Relo Group has labeled the 24-year period that began with the fiscal year ended March 2012 as the Second "Start-up" Period. During this period we will continue working towards achieving our vision based on a medium- and long-term business framework.
We position the first half of the Second "Start-up" Period as the Second Start-up Stage, and the latter half as the Global Start-up Stage. Over the course of this period, we will formulate a medium-term business plan, known as the Olympic Plan, once every four years.
Currently, the entire group is working together to achieve the goals of the First Olympic Plan, which will come to a close in the fiscal year ending March 2015.
Second Start-up Stage (First 12 years)
In the Second Start-up Stage, we anticipate that Japanese companies will further accelerate the global expansion of their businesses for the continued shrinking of the Japanese market. In light of these trends, we will work to 1) act as a solution provider in the field of employee fringe benefits, providing client companies with support for their non-core operations, and 2) support the global expansion of Japanese companies so that they can perform to their full potential.
Global Start-up Stage (Second 12 years)
Next, in the Global Start-up Stage, we aim for the Relo Group to become known as "the provider of outbound relocation services and destination services" among employees of Japanese companies and those showcasing their skills on the global stage . We also seek to become "a world-class relocation company" that provides comprehensive relocation support services for Japanese companies expanding globally.
In the Second Start-up Stage, we will strive to fulfill the aims of our mission and make our vision a reality by building bases for overseas businesses, while at the same time reinforcing our management base in Japan.
